Q: What is the HoPP™ System? A: The Hierarchy of Personal Productivity™ System is a proprietary framework that takes clients through the process of achieving balance. We start with a thorough assessment of each client’s individual situation, and then devise a customized plan of action. We spend some time optimizing methods and procedures for enhanced focus and reduced time waste due to physical and electronic clutter, then move up to the tiers of time management, goal setting and finally achieving balance. The HoPP™ System is based on Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, which was first introduced in his 1943 paper "A Theory of Human Motivation" and his subsequent book, Motivation and Personality. This hierarchy suggests that people are motivated to fulfill basic needs before moving on to other needs. Just like in the Hierarchy of Needs, we believe that some of the lower tier issues on the HoPP™ pyramid need to be addressed and streamlined before moving on to other tiers.
Q: There are so many proven time management systems out there, why is this better? A: Time Management is only a portion of the HoPP™ System. We have spent years developing a framework that incorporates the best techniques from experts like David Allen, Harold Taylor and Julie Morgenstern with our own proprietary concepts. What makes the HoPP System truly successful is the truly comprehensive approach to balance that starts with streamlining of basic systems and works towards developing possibility. Once clients see the “whole picture” and the path to getting where they want, it truly is that crucial breakthrough moment in their lives where it all comes together and they are ready to commit to the process and move forward toward their vision.
Q: What is NAPO and are you a member? A: The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) is recognized as the association for professional organizers and time management consultants. NAPO offers professionals opportunities to sharpen their skills through ongoing education and professional development. NAPO has a Code of Ethics by which members are expected to abide. A professional who is a NAPO member has made a commitment to his/her business and thus to you, the client. TMC is a member of NAPO and NAPO – New England Chapter.
Q: I am a very private person and consider all that you see and learn about me and my space to be confidential. Will my sessions be kept confidential? A: My policy is that a client's office, belongings, and matters are to remain confidential. I value and respect the trust that you give me in allowing me into your office. As a member of NAPO we are held to code of ethics. Terms for Confidentiality are as follows: I will keep confidential all client information, both business and personal, including that which may be revealed by other organizers. I will use proprietary client information only with the client's permission. I will keep client information confidential and not use it to benefit myself or my firm, or reveal this information to others.
